Our Story/Bio
Hi, I’m Ashley — the face, the hands, and the heart behind Maison Miette.
If you’re reading this, thank you for being here. It truly means more than you know.
A little over a week ago, I made one of the hardest and scariest decisions of my life:
I quit my job.
It wasn’t impulsive. It wasn’t easy. It was something I wrestled with for months. On paper, I had worked hard to get to where I was. I held a position I once thought I needed to keep proving myself in. But deep down, I knew it was no longer serving me. The environment had become heavy—draining, overwhelming, and not aligned with who I was becoming.
What most people don’t know is that the food world has been my home for a long time.
I’ve been in the pastry industry for 7 years, and in the hospitality industry as a whole for 14 years. I grew up in these spaces — long shifts, early mornings, late nights, ovens warming up at dawn, the rhythm of service, the creativity, the pressure, the passion. It’s woven into me. It’s where I’ve learned discipline, art, resilience, and connection.
So when I talk about stepping away from my old job, it wasn’t me abandoning a path —
it was me finally returning to the one I was always meant to be on.
Walking away felt like letting go of something I fought so hard to have…
but it was also choosing myself for the first time in a long time.
And choosing yourself isn’t selfish — it’s necessary.
Especially when the space you’re in becomes toxic, uncertain, and misaligned with your highest good.
So I stepped away.
I took a breath.
I allowed myself space to reflect.
And in that space, something inside me softened, opened, and said,
“It’s time.”
It’s time to pour into the things that light me up.
It’s time to honor the creativity I’ve always carried with me.
It’s time to build something that feels like home.
That’s how Maison Miette came to life — not just as a bakery, but as a piece of my story.
A place where my love for creating, designing, baking, and making people feel something could actually live and breathe outside the four walls of my kitchen.
Every dessert I make, every detail I design, every crumb… it all comes from real intention and real heart. This business is deeply personal to me. It’s my art. It’s my healing. It’s the story I’m choosing to write for myself — one small step, one brave choice, one beautiful dessert at a time.
I’m still working a simple, low-stress job on the side as I grow this dream, and honestly, I’m grateful for that balance right now. But Maison Miette… this is where my heart lives. This is where I feel aligned, creative, inspired, and myself again.
So if you ever need treats for a dinner night, a birthday, a wedding, a celebration, or just because — I would be honored to be your girl.
I’m pouring my whole heart into this.
And I can’t wait to share that with you.
Thank you for being here as I step into this new chapter.
Here’s to choosing ourselves.
Here’s to new beginnings.
Here’s to every crumb telling a story. 🤎
