Our Story/Bio
Gallaher Sourdough began on accident… A friend gifted me starter (against my will) when I was happy baking yeasted bread. One thing led to another, and I was baking more sourdough than my family was able to consume!
I loved being able to make fresh bread that didn’t contain grains treated with glyphosate for my family.
I began selling my breads while 6 months pregnant in 2023… I joined the Plainfield Farmers Market as a vendor the following summer, and that is when my business really took off.
Now a member of the Plainfield Shorewood Area Chamber of Commerce, my focus is continuing to provide fresh, healthier bread and sweets to my community, while also giving back to the local community.
I have served on various committees, volunteer with different organizations, and regularly donate raffle baskets for causes that I believe in.
If you’re local to Plainfield, I would love to bake for you! A new menu opens every Sunday most weeks, and pick up day is Friday :)
April-December I stock Blackberry Lane Farmstand in Channahon with fresh sourdough baked goods each Friday! See their socials for hours of operation.
From May-October I am also a vendor at markets on the weekends in addition to regular pre-orders for pick up at my porch, so tune into my Facebook for the most up-to-date info on those.

This bakery has the absolute best sourdough bread I’ve ever had even in San Francisco! All of her goods are outstanding! I have never been disappointed with anything I have ordered or tried!!

To say I’m obsessed with Gallaher Sourdough is an understatement. All breads are fantastic – my personal faves are black pepper and Parmesan for grilled cheese, and the croissant loaf for toast. The cookies are amazing and I always snag a blueberry muffin when they’re on the menu. My mom and I always look forward to the weekly drop – I would recommend this bakery to anyone!

I remember it clearly. One innocent slice. One.
That’s all it took.
At first, I thought, How good can bread really be? A reckless thought, in hindsight. The crust shattered like it was auditioning for a sound-effects job. The inside? Soft, chewy, and unfairly perfect — the kind of crumb that makes you pause and whisper, “Oh no…” because you know something has gone terribly right.
The flavor hit next. That deep, tangy sourdough taste that doesn’t punch you in the face but slowly, lovingly reels you in. Balanced. Complex. Comforting. The kind of bread that convinces you butter is optional… until you add butter and suddenly you’re pacing the kitchen, slicing “just a little more.”
Toast it and it becomes a full-blown problem. The edges crisp up, the middle stays pillowy, and the aroma fills the house like a siren call. Neighbors probably sensed it. My self-control certainly did not.
Day two? Still incredible. Day three? Somehow better. This loaf didn’t go stale — it evolved. Like it knew I wasn’t done with it yet.
Now I can’t pass a bakery without staring through the window. I judge other breads harshly. I talk about hydration levels like a person who has thoughts. This sourdough didn’t just feed me — it changed me.
So yes. Five stars.
But be warned: this isn’t bread.
It’s a gateway loaf. 🍞😅
