Our Story/Bio
Island Crumbs began quietly in a small Waipahu kitchen, long before it had a name. Baking was a way to unwind — mixing dough, feeding starter, and learning the rhythm of sourdough. What started as curiosity slowly became a passion for creating breads, cookies, and cakes that felt comforting, nostalgic, and deeply homemade.
During those early days, the sourdough starter became more than just a jar of flour and water. It was a reminder that good things grow slowly, with patience and care. That’s why the starter was given two names: Hope and Faith — the two things that kept the dream alive through every late-night bake and every early-morning rise.
As friends and family became taste-testers and neighbors started asking for more, the idea of a microbakery began to take shape. Each batch brought more confidence, more joy, and more belief that this little dream could feed the community in a real way.
Today, Island Crumbs is built on that same spirit. Every loaf, cookie, and cake is made in small batches with intention, transparency, and aloha — a reminder that when you nurture something with hope and faith, it rises into something beautiful.
