About This Baker

Description

Muru Bakery specializes in Finnish baked goods, mainly fragrant cardamom buns and sour rye bread. Pre order for pickup or come on by on weekends for a taste of authentic nordic goodies. Preorder and bakery stand dates available on Instagram.

Our Story/Bio
Hi! I’m Selja, the baker behind Muru Bakery.
I grew up in Finland, where pulla — a soft, cardamom-scented sweet bread — is a staple at coffee tables, birthdays, saunas, and snowy afternoons. Braided or swirled, it’s baked with care and always shared with friends and family. It's the base dough for most of my creations.

At Muru, I carry on that tradition in small batches, using real butter, a dash of sisu, and memories of baking with my late father who taught me a thing or two about being creative. Every baked good I make is a piece of those memories.

Whether it’s your first taste or a nostalgic favorite, I hope it brings you a quiet moment of something warm and sweet shared with dear ones or the "muru" (i.e. sweetheart) in your life.
